PIAF shortlists are out

Seventy-one entries have made it to the shortlists at this year's PIAF. Overall, the most successful agency is the German Heimat with 10 nominations. Czechs have 17 entries, among which Kaspen/Jung von Matt has the most (4).

The prized trophies will be awarded by the jury in just one week. The results of the competition and the showcase of the winning works will take place at the end of the two-day PIAF festival, on May 24th at the Trade Fair Palace. A change was made in the composition of the jury - its president, Fadi Yaish, won’t be able to attend the festival in Prague due to a death in his family. He will be replaced by Ricardo Distefano from Heimat Berlin. You can check out the complete shortlists here.

"The number of entries has dropped significantly this year with Russian and domestic agencies. This corresponds to the overall lower number of short-listed works. On the other hand, the jury was surprisingly unified in who was to proceed to the next round. We weren’t used to this in the past years," says Marek Hlavica, Director of PIAF.

Even the PIAF trophy has gone through an evolution. The typical birdie has once again landed on top of the brutal concrete base. There is less gold and other metals.
